Dr. Alex Trick is a biomedical engineer and entrepreneur with deep expertise in microfluidics and point-of-care diagnostics. His work has yielded 6 patents and over 20 peer-reviewed publications. He invented the magnetofluidic cartridge technology at the foundation of the Prompt platform during his PhD research at Johns Hopkins University and has since led Prompt Diagnostics through federally funded projects (NIH, NSF, CDC) and high-profile validation programs (CARB-X, RADx).
Dr. Jeffrey Burke is a product development engineer with over a decade of experience in microfluidics, molecular biology, and product development. Prior to joining Prompt Diagnostics, he served as Senior Director of Chemical Science at PacBio and led R&D and operations at Circulomics through its successful acquisition. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Washington State University and has authored numerous high-impact publications and patents. With experience spanning R&D, manufacturing, and operations, Jeffrey brings a proven track record of advancing technologies from concept to commercialization, positioning Prompt Diagnostics to rapidly expand its product pipeline.
Dilawer Singh is an engineering leader with deep expertise in hardware/software engineering, biomedical systems, and diagnostics. Prior to joining Prompt Diagnostics, he served as Director of Engineering at Aidar Health where he oversaw the design and development from prototype through FDA clearance. He earned dual BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from the University of Arkansas and an MS in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. At Prompt, Dilawer leads quality, software, and instrument design and development, leveraging his expertise to drive innovative products through regulatory pathways into clinical markets.
Dr. Tza-Huei (Jeff) Wang is a co-founder of Prompt Diagnostics and the Louis M. Sardella Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University with a secondary appointment in Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on the development of innovative micro- and nano-biotechnologies for molecular analysis and biomedical research.
He has authored 155 journal articles and 100 conference papers and delivered 130 invited talks. He holds 36 patents, including 14 U.S. patents, 10 provisional patents, and 12 foreign patents. He has received numerous awards, including the NSF CAREER Award, the CRS Jorge Heller Award, the JALA Ten Award, and the Cohen Translational Engineering Award. He has been inducted as a Fellow in the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
Dr. Sasha Bakhru is a Founder of Perosphere Inc. (acquired by Amag Pharmaceuticals, 2019), CEO of Perosphere Technologies Inc., and an Adjunct Professor of Medical Science and Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Brown University. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Prompt Diagnostics, NuView Life Sciences, and SedMed, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Amylyx Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: AMLX) and CellsBin. He is a Fellow (2020) of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
Dr. Bakhru has co-authored over 50 publications, 20 patents, and one book chapter. His work has been published in 50 conference proceedings and abstracts. Dr. Bakhru received a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University, an MSE from Johns Hopkins University in Materials Engineering, and a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in Biomedical Engineering as a Dowd Fellow in the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems. He was winner of the 2008 Global MOOT Corp competition, and in 2009, received the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business “Entrepreneur of the Year” and “Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year” alumni prizes.
